The alkaline potassium persulfate digestion and ultraviolet spectrophotometry is adopted for WS1505 online automatic water quality monitor for total nitrogen content. Potassium persulfate is used as an oxidant for digestion at 125℃ for 15-30min, so that nitride is transferred to nitrate ions. In a strong acid environment, the developer reacts with nitrate ions and is determined by the spectroscopy at the characteristic absorption wavelength.
